We did a beach day in Mazatlan. We enjoyed the Playa Mazatlan resort, but wished that the intermittent rain showers would have held off. After playing around in the pools and at the beach, Stacey and Frances went shopping – big surprise there. Kristin took a nap while Nick and Lauren, Emily and me, and Jared all went out on jet skis. We had a blast – although I think I scared Emily at times…… The sky was overcast and the ocean choppy but it was a great deal of fun. The only thing I didn’t like was being accosted by the peddlers every time we left the resort area and entered the beach.

This turned out to be a very special night. My daughter’s boyfriend has been working behind the scenes for months trying to figure out when to propose to her. I put him in contact with the concierge team and they were able to work something out. The comedian tonight, Ron Pearson, www.ronpearson.net, was fabulous. He called Nick out – and asked him how long they had been dating. He then said what would it take to ask Kristin. He gave him $21.26 a Mickey hand, a woman’s Disney hat and someone’s pager. Finally – on cue – Nick said he didn’t have a ring – at which point, Ron said, you mean if I had a ring you’d ask her? Nick said yes, and Ron then pulled out the ring from his pocket. Kristin was really surprised. We were all in tears as he got down on a knee and proposed. The audience went nuts. Kristin and Nick have been celebrities with everybody last night and today offering their congratulations. I will post the video when I get it from Disney. In the meantime here are a few pictures.

We had a good day in Cabo. We were scheduled to go on a 2 bay snorkeling excursion. Well – the boat we were on was having some engine problems – so we went to a different area. Frances jumped into the water first – and realized that she was surrounded by jellyfish. She managed to get out with only a couple of stings. At that point we decided to do a beach day. We sailed to an area near by called Lover’s Beach. We dropped anchor and were shuttled to shore. We actually had a really good day. I will post pictures later.

For some reason my blog is not updating when I send pictures and texts from my Blackberry. I had sent the previous entries on Sunday and Monday, but they didn’t post. I’ve tried to fix it and it won’t work. I’ll update the blog every night and every morning.
